Interview with a Plant Parent: Amber

1. Tell us a little about yourself!

Hello planty world 🌎 My name is Amber & I live in Northern California with my husband & our 3 daughters.

2. What got you into the plant hobby?

I've always been into outdoor plants. Growing native medicinal plants & using the plants to make my own salves & tinctures. Like many others, when the pandemic arrived I became more focused on caring for various indoor plants. I eventually gathered a crazy collection & realized it would be in my best interest to minimize my planty obsession. So, with that I currently love & care for Hoyas, Pothos & Philodendron with a few Monsteras. My Hoyas are my life! I adore them tremendously!

    3. What is your most favourite indoor plant you have at the moment?

Right now I'm crushing on my Philodendron Silver Stripe. It's a pretty sexy plant indeed. Currently we're looking to move across the country for my husband's job in Charlotte North Carolina, so my planty purchases have slowed....a bit.

      4. What is the next indoor plant in your wishlist?

My wishlist plant on my radar right now is a Cream Splash Philodendron 😍 I'm stalking a current friend of mine that has one.

        5. Share with us one or more of your best plant care tips.

If I had a tip to give to all the planty people it would be to just allow yourself to love and enjoy your plants. Your plants should bring you joy. They should almost be looked at as if you're nurturing yourself. We're always so quick to put our personal emotional needs aside. Self-care is so important.
